The adventures of Rick and Spot
This brochure contains 16 size A5 pages. Included with it is an insert with a cross-word puzzle to be solved (the right solution gives a fire safety motto) and a sticker with fire brigade, ambulance service and police emergency phone numbers. It is in a form of a comic strip with captions and it is addressed to children from grades II-IV elementary school and grades IV-VI elementary schools for handicapped children.
The content of the brochure:
Rick and his dog Spot are alone at home. Rick finds a box of matches and wants to play with them but Spot warns him that it can cause a fire. Spot explains the concepts of a fire and of combustion and names phenomena which accompany a fire; smoke, emission of toxic fumes and high temperature. The correct course of action during emergency is discussed as well as the basic causes of fires and ways of extinguishing them at home. Attention is directed to the fact that an adult should extinguish the fire.
