How to survive a fire
This brochure contains 24 size A5 pages. It is in a comic strip form with text commentaries under the drawings. It is directed to adults and senior secondary school students.
The brochure describes:
- the definition of a fire emergency and the concepts of fire and combustion
- phenomena which accompany fire and which place humans at risk
- the use of water as one of the means of extinguishing a fire at home
- the guidelines of extinguishing typical home-type fires such as: a television set fire, lacquer container fire, burning cooking oils on a stove, rubbish bin fire, clothing burning on a victim, gas stove fire, window curtain fire, paint fire during floor painting as well as car’s electrical circuit fire
- the obligatory rules connected with raising an alarm during a fire
- the guidelines of securing rooms against smoke penetration and how to move in smoke filled areas as well as high temperature safeguarding
- the means of calling for help – how to signal one’s presence while awaiting rescuers
- the dangers behind installing security bars in windows and in corridors of residential buildings.
